congratulations smartie pants!

So Jordyn graduated last week with a Bachelor of Arts in English, and a diploma in Liberal Arts!  AND she's halfway done her Library Technician diploma already.  What a girl.

I'm so proud, and yet having my little sister graduate university makes me feel old.  Seriously, high school feels like it was yesterday!

from whistler, forever ago

I've decided to start a new series here on p.s.heart since I am apparently a master procrastinator. I'll be sharing small collections of forgotten photos that I find here and there.  I hope you enjoy!

These photos are from a trip my family took up to Whistler to celebrate my grandparents 60th anniversary (how amazing is that?) way back in November.  The house we stayed in was an absolute dream, and the views were so insanely beautiful.  I had never been to Whistler before (shocking, I know), and I hope to visit again soon!

So much good food.  We definitely have our priorities in order.

I found my twin!  Pretty hilarious that I apparently dress like a mountie 99% of the time during the Winter.

Also, that's my dad.  He's pretty swell.
Random fact: I've had complete strangers come up to me asking if I'm his daughter, since we look so much alike.  I try not to be offended...since, you know, I'm not a 50 year old man.  But whatevs.

weekly wrap-up: beachy days

Now, berry farmers aren't able to leave their farm too often in the middle of Summer, but last weekend we were able to get away for a bit to celebrate our parents' anniversay!  We drove out to White Rock for supper, and had such a fun evening soaking up the sun, walking along the beach, and finishing the night off with ice cream!

How adorable is this sign?  Are there any Doctor Who fans out there? Hehe.

weekly wrap-up: mumford mayhem

Mumford and Sons has been on my list of bands I must see before I die, and I nearly had a heart attack when I found out they were FINALLY coming back to B.C..  I signed up for the pre-sale and managed to grab tickets right away....yahoo!  

The concert took place in a park, and over 25, 000 people showed up.  So yeah, it was kind of nuts.  And when I say kind of....I mean mega nuts.  

The day was so lovely, and we sat on the grass and listened to the opening bands....and it was the epitome of a perfect summer afternoon.  

And then Mumford and Sons came on, and blew everyone out of the water.  

I'm getting chills right now just remembering their harmonies and passion.  Seriously, the were incredible.

Also, we bumped into a p.s.heart reader while entering the venue!  We were so surprised and a bit flustered by this that we acted like complete weirdos, and didn't even ask her name.  

If you're reading this, please know that we're sorry, and we really appreciated that you said hello!

The rest of my week consisted of farm work and sore muscles (what's new?), as well as graduation stuff.  We had a grad dinner with family and close friends last night, and I walk the stage tomorrow afternoon.

My only hope is that I don't trip on the stage!

springtime in Vancouver

Here in Vancouver we get a lot of rain.  And I mean A LOT of rain.  Sometimes we don't see much sunshine during Fall, and sometimes our Winters consist of days (or even weeks) of constant drizzle.  

Rainboots are a must, and a good rain jacket is your best friend.  At times it can be depressing, and other times invigorating.  But most of the time it's wet. Very very wet.

And then suddenly it's Spring, and we remember why we love Vancouver.  It still rains a lot, but not as much as before.  The best part of all is when the first tree blossoms!  Hope rides in on soft pink petals, and the city smiles back.
